PSE certification
PSE (Product Safety of Electrical Appliance & Materials) certification (called "suitability inspection" in Japan) is a mandatory market access system for electrical appliances in Japan.
It is an important content stipulated in the Gas Products Safety Law. At present, the Japanese government divides electrical appliances into "specific electrical appliances" and "non-specific electrical appliances" according to Japan's "Electrical Appliances Safety Law".
"Specific electrical appliances" includes 115 products; "non-specific electrical appliances" includes 339 products. PSE includes requirements for both EMC and safety.
All products belonging to the "Specific Electrical Appliances and Materials" category, entering the Japanese market, must be certified by a third-party certification agency authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, obtain a certification certificate, and have a diamond-shaped PSE mark on the label.
